I love caramel apples, but can never eat a whole apple and if you cut them into pieces they always turn brown. Here is a great way to have your cake (caramel apple) and eat it too! Use grapes instead of apples. “But they won’t taste like apples”, you say! Here’s where you are wrong. If you soak the grapes in Apple Vodka overnight… TaDa! They taste like apples. (With a special kick!)
STEP 1: Poke holes in the grapes so that the vodka can soak into them.
STEP 2: Pour the whole bottle of vodka over the grapes and make sure they are completely covered. Cover and place in the refrigerator overnight.
STEP 3:
Dry off the grapes with a paper towel and let them air dry for about 1 hour.
STEP 4:
Melt the caramels in a glass bowl in the microwave. Stirring well.
STEP 5:
Using a toothpick, roll the bottom of the grape in the caramel and then dip in chopped peanuts, coconut or mini chocolate chips. I made some of each. Serve with toothpicks. These were a huge hit at my last party!
