There are so many great benefits of hiking. Both mental & physical. Last year I ended up with a herniated disc in my lower back. I did a ton of research on the best ways to heal it without having surgery. One thing I learned, is that hiking is one of the best ways to strengthen the muscles in your back and strengthen your core. Because of that, hiking has become one of my favorite ways to exercise and find Zen.
I love getting out and experiencing nature. And for me, the challenge of climbing a hill or mountain is very therapeutic. My favorite hikes are the ones that end with a beautiful waterfall or an amazing view. It always makes the hard work so worth it! I find that I am able to think more clearly and my mind is more open when I’m out hiking. I love the talks that happen while hiking with friends or loved ones. It’s a chance to get away from the chaos of the world and disconnect from everything. Complete ZEN!
