Finally My Own Yoga Room!

Hi, my name is Holly.  Welcome to my first ever blog post!  Creating Zen isn’t always easy in this crazy chaotic world we live in.  I am very busy being a wife, mom, full-time employee and women’s leader in my church group.

Zen Garden

With all the different hats I wear, I am constantly looking for anything that will help me find the “calm in the storm”.  I hope to help others find fun, creative and easy ways to make their own ZEN in life.

I have been practicing yoga for several years now and have fallen in love with it.  I am certainly not what I would consider an expert or even that good at it sometimes, but it has changed my life for the better in so many ways!  (We will get into that in another blog post!)

Since I started practicing yoga I have wanted to create my own yoga space, so when my son decided to move his room into our basement I took the opportunity to create my yoga room! I was doing my yoga practice every morning in my bedroom while my husband slept in the bed next to me.  I get that yoga is generally a quiet practice, but this was NOT my ideal yoga space!  I have spent that last few months turning my yoga room into my own private ZEN!!  It is still a work in progress, but it’s coming together and I love having my own place to come and ZEN out.

Tapestry

I found my amazing tapestry at the swap meet in Maui.  As soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it.  Luckily for me, my husband agreed! I used a wine rack to hold my yoga mats and kitchen utility racks to organize my weights and yoga accessories.

I hope you enjoy taking a tour of my yoga room with me!  And if you have any great ideas for me to make it even better, by all means, please send them my way!
